Ok, I finally got tagged by Zippy, so here are five things about me.
1. I'm blind in one eye. It doesn't really affect me much, as it's been that way since birth and most people generally don't notice. Every once in a while someone will come out with "What's that white thing in your eye?" and I think next time, I'll tell them it's my built in catch light.
2. I was born in Puerto Rico. My dad was in the Air Force, and was stationed there. We left when I was about two years old, so I don't really remember anything about it, and I've never had the chance to go back again. It's on my list of places to visit at some point in my life.
3. I got married at the tender age of seventeen, and have been married for 21 years now. That surprises most people.
4. I used to be an athlete. I was on the rowing team in college and was actually pretty good. Unfortunately, I got in a car accident which ended any chance of going to the Olympics.
5. Speaking of college, my degree is in Chemical Engineering and I worked up until last year in the pharmaceuticals industry. I got laid off at the beginning of last year and have been unemployed since. My job was the main thing keeping us in this area, after my husband finally retired from the Marine Corps. So when the lay offs came, we decided that I would spend my time working on the house, so we can put it up for sale and relocate. It's been up on the market since November, so now it's just a waiting game. Anybody looking for a five acre horse ranch in Southern California?
